The mechanical bug still continues to infect the 06 race team. We lost the brakes on the car just prior to the drop of the green flag in our heat race forcing us to withdraw from the heat race prior to the finish. Well we suffered out first major contact of the year. First one of the wing brackets broke during the feature giving us an ill handling racecar for the race. This kept us deep in the pack of cars. Then suddenly a car spun directly in front of us. This car then drove down the track from the outside wall toward the inside of the track. I tried to give the spinning car as much room as possible

We were able to finish in 9th place this weekend at Whip City Speedway. The car handled excellent we were able to turn some of our fastest laps of the year. We will once again be returning to Whip City Speedway on the 26th of June and hope to continue to improve. See you at the track.

Well I made a major mistake this weekend. I packed up the truck, loaded up my racing gear and even had the car on the trailer. The mistake was in not taking it all to the track. Mechanical gremlins bit the 06 race team this weekend at Whip City Speedway. The fuel pump on the car broke and prevented the team from finish the feature event. The 06 team was official credited with a 19th place finish. New parts are currently being shipped from Missouri and the team plans to have the car in racing shape for the next race on May 15th.

We had a semi good test. The first test I was not going fast enough to get effective weight transfer to the rear to have any valid data on the car but at least I was able to see the track from the cockpit perspective. On the second test, the track was ruff but I needed to try to go a little faster, but between the ruts and the fact that was still not used to the steering I was kind of in the way.

Twenty four hours until we hit the track!!. Talked to our chassis builder today and we are going to make a gear change prior to tomorrows practice. Change the oil, change the gear, adjust the belts and add the new chain and we are set to go racing.

Two days to go until our first practice. The car is taking shape nicely. The chassis has been officially set up and the body panels have been reinstalled. Just a few minor details left such as changing the oil and adjusting the safety belts and we are off racing.
